Why Study In Cyprus? | Cyprus Universities | PG Courses | UG Courses

Map Of Cyprus

The country:

Cyprus, the third largest island in the Mediterranean, has a rich, turbulent history stretching back to antiquity. It is strategically located at the intersection of three continents; Europe, Middle East and Africa. Cyprus was colonized by the British, and they got their independence on the 1st of October 1960. Over the last years, Cyprus has emerged as one of the region's leading business and financial centers. Various sectors of the economy like tourism, banking, insurance and telecommunications enjoy their high standards as a result of being the leading edge of technology.

Education and Geography:

Universities in Cyprus offer affordable tuition fees for as low as 2400-2800 EUR per session, they also offers moderate living expenses for international students for as low as 250-400 EUR per month. Dorm-style housing or hostels are available for students who wish to study abroad in Cyprus. Rooms are designed to accommodate one, two, or four students.
There are several advantages of studying in Cyprus, as it provides an ideal structure and environment for higher learning and has become a major international education center, attracting students from all over the countries.

The cost of living in Cyprus is incredibly reasonable, and once you start getting to know the locals you will barely pay a dime to have a good time in Cyprus. Cyprus is blessed with natural beauty and has one of the healthiest environments in the world, free from any kind of pollution; crime rate in Cyprus is next to nothing. Cyprus is a beautiful island to study abroad in, and offers beautiful beaches, mountain scenery, and cultural depth to any student eager to explore what it has to offer. Some call Cyprus the island of love.

Why Cyprus?

  • Guaranteed sunshine and high temperatures for most of the year;
  • A very low crime rate;
  • Low taxation, especially for retirees;
  • An excellent quality of life;
  • A particularly low cost of living;
  • A slow, relaxed pace of life;
  • The friendliness and warmth of the Cypriot people;
  • 90 per cent of the Cypriot population speaks English.
  • For Britons, there’s the added advantage that Cypriot legal and financial procedures are similar to those in the UK.

Currency:

The pound, also known as the lira was the currency of Cyprus until 31 December 2007, after which the Republic of Cyprus adopted the euro. The Cyprus pound was replaced by the euro as official currency of the Republic of Cyprus on 1 January 2008.

Tourism:

Blessed with endless blue-sky days and miles of sandy coast, Cyprus is a tourism promoter’s dream. Lazy bucket-and-spade package holidays bring gaggles of Europeans to this Mediterranean idyll every summer. But Cyprus is more than its sand: eschew resorts to rove rural cobblestone villages and the jagged heartland. It has an earthy raw energy on both sides of the capital and the traditional character and culture that can be seen watered down in the resorts. Apart from its natural beauty Cyprus also has sense of past that is almost impeccable.
